Looking
through internet I found quite a few photographers that did or still doing the
projects about scars. They all have something in common, they all show how beautiful
and important scars can be. For instance, photographer David Jay started photographing
scars as his close friend got breast cancer and since then he photographer over
a hundred man and women, who survived breast cancer. His images are very
sensitive and beautiful, many people contacted him asking to take image of them
and their scars. Photographer also shot a lot of soldiers, who came back from
war. David Jay stated that media usually shows how well these people adapted,
but photographer wanted to show the other side of the story.
Other photographers
like David Woolfall, Sam Nixon are interested in the story behind the scars, he
as other artists shows how beautiful the scars are.

These photographers’
images are really interesting and intimate, they show not only the scar but
usually face as well, however in my project I would like to get closer and don’t
show the face. I am very interested in every single detail of the scar and
would like to show that in my work.
